Question 66

In the face of climate change, how can irrigation and drainage contribute to agro-ecological transition?

66.1:At the plot, landscape, and watershed scales, what processes are involved in the interaction between irrigation/drainage and agroecology, and how might we model them?/ À l’échelle de la parcelle, du paysage et du bassin versant, quels sont les processus impliqués dans l'interaction entre l'irrigation/le drainage et l'agroécologie, et comment pouvons-nous les modéliser?
66.2: At the farm, territorial, sectoral, and food system levels, what are the characteristics of irrigated/drained agroecological systems and the methods for supporting the agroecological transition of irrigated/drained systems?/ Aux niveaux de l’exploitation agricole, du territoire, du secteur et du système alimentaire, quelles sont les caractéristiques des systèmes agroécologiques irrigués/drainés ainsi que les méthodes pour soutenir la transition agroécologique des systèmes irrigués/drainés?

Question 67

Innovative technology and practices for increasing water use efficiency : Irrigation management and services, remote sensing, irrigation equipment,…where do we stand ?/ Sobriété de l'usage agricole de l'eau : La technologie doit faciliter l'évolution des pratiques. Avertissement, pilotage, télédétection, matériel d'irrigation... Où en sommes-nous ?

67.1: Irrigation practices and technologies at the plot and farm levels reflect individual skills, objectives, decisions, and philosophies. How can these be evaluated and improved?/Les pratiques et technologies d’irrigation à l'échelle de la parcelle et de l’exploitation agricole reflètent les compétences individuelles, les objectifs, les décisions et les philosophies. Comment peut-on les évaluer et les améliorer?
67.2: At the territorial scale, irrigation water management is jointly influenced by agricultural, economic, environmental, and regulatory drivers.

Question 68

Non-conventional water (REUSE, desalination): can we really loosen the grip on the resource and for what uses?

International Symposium

Future Proofing Irrigation: Modernisation and IWRM, Finance, Policies, and Institutions

ICID has been organizing its flagship triennial event International Congress on Irrigation and Drainage since 1951. The ICID triennial Congresses are organized to discuss and evaluate the upcoming and dynamic changes within the water sector in the entire world. Every third year, from the emerging global trends, two Questions or thematic areas are identified, on which papers are invited and, a Special Session, Symposium.
This pre-congress e-proceeding in your hand contains all the ‘Abstracts’ of accepted papers together with their French translation in the Abstract Volume and their full text separately in the USB flash drive. The volume also contains the General Reports on Questions 66, 67, 68. More Info
