BRIEF PROFILE+
Mr. Mistry was born on 17 April, 1931. He received Master of Engineering degree from (Water Resources Development) University of Roorkee in 1959. He was Designs, Planning and Construction engineer for seven years on Ukai-Multi-Purpose project as Executive Engineer (1960-1967); Superintending Engineer, Narmada Irrigation Circle, Baroda and Director, Engineering Research Institute, Baroda (1967-1969); Managing Director, Gujarat Water Resources Development Corporation in charge of Groundwater development programme of the State (1975-1977). He Was Chief Engineer (Irrigation Projects) and Joint Secretary, Irrigation Department from December 1976. He was awarded (1) Merit Certificate in 9th International Congress on Large Dams in 1969 (2) Awarded Gold Medal for research paper in CBIP Journal in 1977 (3) Awarded Gold Medal and cash Prize from Hari Om Research Foundation through University of Gujarat (4) Awarded ISI Fellowship in 1982. He was Fellow of Institution of Engineers, India; and Member : Geo-Technical Society Delhi; International Society of Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering; Indian Association of Hydrologists Roorkee; Indian Geological Society, Calcutta, CBIP, New Delhi; IWRA; IWRS; NIH; and ICOLD Dam Safety Sub-Committee. He was Vice President of ICID from 1982-1985.
