Menu
ICID network boasts of more than 400 professionals managing over 30 functioning work bodies based on their relentless voluntary efforts all around the year. Broadly segregated among four strategy themes: Basin, Knowledge, On-farms and Schemes; over the last 70 years ICID has accumulated knowledge, developed resources and shared experiences across geographical, climatological, economic and social spectrum; presented various technical papers, guidelines and manuals based on various aspects of irrigation, drainage, and flood management. On the basis of functionality and themes covered by various workbodies, they are divided under four labels apart from administrative committees.
In addition, issues related to specific regions are addressed by regional working groups representing Africa, Asia, America, and Europe. To address specific issues Task Forces (TF) are also established from timeto-time to undertake a specific activity and complete it within the stipulated time.
President Prof. Dr. Ragab Ragab during the recent Second Monthly (Internal) Meeting of President with Secretary General and ICID Central Office Staff held on 07 June 2021 (virtual) suggested that the workbodies should organize at least two virtual meetings in a year apart from the physical meeting organized during the IEC Meeting(s).
