The Central Board of Irrigation and Power (CBIP), is a Premier Institution set up by the Government of India in the 1927. CBIP has been rendering dedicated services to the professional organizations, engineers and individuals in the country related to Power, Water Resources and Renewable Energy Sectors for more than eight decades. CBIP has grown into an eminent organization of international importance while serving the nation equally with great distinction. CBIP is Indian chapter for more than 10 international organizations related to Power & Water resources sectors (ISRM, IGS, INHA, CIGRE, IASH, IWRA, IAEGTD, NDC-WWC, TAI, INCOLD, SPE, etc.).

CBIP had been coordinating and monitoring R&D activities, assisting in specific case studies/problems, documentation and dissemination of the results/findings of Research Projects to the practising engineers under the Research Scheme on Power – (RSOP),  Research Scheme on River Valley Projects (RSRVP), Research Scheme on Flood Control (RSFC) and Research Scheme on Plasticulture Development (RSPD). Funds for Research Schemes under RSRVP and RSFC were provided by Ministry of Water Resources and for RSOP by Ministry of Power.

The Board publishes Technical Literature and journals including manuals, guidelines, specifications, etc., (related to the fields of Water Resources, Power and Renewable Energy Sectors). Till date about 1500 Technical publications have been brought out by CBIP. The manuals of CBIP are broadly refferred/quoted by the manufactures/utilities in the country and abroad.

CBIP has organised more than 1700 National and International Conferences on various advanced technologies.

Aariz Ahmed is currently a Doctoral student under the Energy, Environment and Climate Change Programme (EECP) at the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), IISc campus, Bengaluru. A young professional from Germany with extensive field and operational experiences in water resources management and climate change in South Asia. Currently working as a consultant to guide CIMMYT~s water related work in South Asia while completing a PhD at Wageningen UR. My work developed out of the CSISA Project~s (www.csisa.org) workstream on coping with climate variability. The project supports governments in designing and implementing sustainable intensification pathways in the region through systemic change by identifying better bet agronomic practices, engaging the private sector, and building capacity in local institutions. This means that we have a strong field presence and network with local stakeholders and institutions.

To be more specific, I work on the interlinkages between sustainable intensification, climate change adaptation, and the safe operating space of irrigated agriculture in the Eastern Gangetic Plains. The ecological and social complexity of the smallholder and rice-wheat dominated agroecosystems constitute one of the major challenges while prevailing poverty and food insecurity pose large potential for impact. I am currently conducting a study on identifying entry-points for supporting farmer-led groundwater irrigation expansion in Nepal~s Terai. I addition, I am developing a spatial crop modelling framework that can leverage assets in crop simulations as well as RS products.  A CV with more detailed qualifications is available upon request.

Dr. Priju C.P leads the Groundwater Hydrology section of the CWRDM, Kozhikode. Over the last fourteen years, his work has focused on managing groundwater resources of Kerala and Lakshadweep region, integrated water resources management; aquifer management; artificial aquifer recharge; coastal hydrogeology and saline water intrusion; and groundwater source identification using geological and geophysical methods and source sustainability issues. He led the team that prepared several consultancy projects of CWRDM funded by state, central and private agencies and later also in the implementation team. Dr.Priju C.P. has executed 6 research projects and 3 projects are ongoing as Principal Investigator. Three projects are funded by DST-SERB and one is currently under execution. Remaining six projects are funded by KSCSTE-CWRDM of which 2 are currently under execution. He is also actively involved in research and consultancy activities, the prominent being 'Design of water related infrastructure (water distribution, sewerage network and storm water network) for Dholera Smart City' and Geomorphologic study of Tapi River using GIS and Remore Sensing. He has more than 17 publications in a reputed international journal (SCI/SCOPUS).

He was appointed as National Consultant for Kalpsar Project by Narmada, Water Resources, Water Supply and Kalpsar Department of Govt. of Gujarat. Dr. Timbadiya is a Charted Engineer of Institution of Engineers, Kolkata, India. He is a recipient of the Best Case Study Award - 2015 award by the American Society of Civil Engineers and also the Young Engineers Award by the Institution of Engineers (India) in the Year 2015. He has organized various short-term training programs aimed at capacity building of the researchers, academicians and field practitioners in the field of Water Resources Engineering.
