Aariz Ahmed is currently a Doctoral student under the Energy, Environment and Climate Change Programme (EECP) at the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), IISc campus, Bengaluru. His doctoral research is on “Interlinking of Rivers for Integrated Water Resources Management”. His area of interest includes the following: Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM), Hydrology, Socio-Hydrology, Irrigation, and Geospatial analyses related to water resources management.

He has an MTech degree from North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon Maharashtra, in Environmental Science and technology. Apart from this, he also holds PG Diploma in Remote sensing and GIS from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and PGDNRM from MGKVP Varanasi. Prior to joining P.hD program in NIAS, he worked as a Project Associate at the National Institute of Advanced Studies, IISc Campus, Bengaluru, and as a Project Assistant at CSIR-National Environmental Engineering Research Institute Nagpur. He has also been a part of HERE Technologies, a mapping and cloud company in Mumbai.
