With the impending water scarcity and its likely impact on agriculture water, I look forward to contributing to the ICID mission especially in agriculture water management through the use of improved approaches to design, technology and ICT. This will enhance the uptake of water saving irrigation practices, especially among the numerous smallholder farmers and will avail the saved water to more farmers reducing the agriculture water footprint. I look forward to contributing towards developing standards, influencing policy and aligning different countries especially in East Africa, to the International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage Mission and Vision.
