Located near the ancient city of Benevento in the Campania region, Italy, is hereby included in the ICID Register of World Heritage Irrigation Structures as an example of highly innovative concept and realisation of effective water conveyance and distribution through 145 km long aqueducts, greatly enhancing the capability of Roman Empire to improve the livelihood of people and ensuring food security and safety for the population more than 2000 years ago.
