Profile; ?>

The Notong Dam/weir was built on the Pemali River in 1893 by the Dutch Colonial government, in the village of Paku Laut, Margasari District, Tegal Regency.   The right intake consists of 7 Doors (b : 1.85 m, h : 2.40 m). The right intake structure is equipped with a mud bag with size (L : 800.00 m , b : 17.00 m) and a drain box equipped with 2 drain doors with size ( b : 2.0 m , h : 2.1 m). The Notog Weir is a water source for the Pemali Kanan and Kiri irrigation areas with a water catchment area of 855.90 km2 and an irrigation area of 26,952 ha.

This weir was built during the Dutch era and provided air supply to the Right and Left Pemali Irrigation areas through the main Pemali canal (8,550 Km) long, which finally divided the 5 canals into 2 (two) irrigation networks, namely the secondary Pemali Kanan for DI Pemali Right and Pemali Left Secondary channels for DI Pemali Left with different discharge flows. Therefore, the two networks (Right Pemali and Left Pemali) are bound in one Irrigation Network system whose water originates from the Notog Weir.

In 1971 to 1972 rehabilitation was carried out by the Pemali Comal Sub-Project of Prosida. Irrigation Network Heavy Maintenance Project on May 18, 1993. With the passage of time and due to land conversion, the service area of the Notog Weir has become 26,592 Ha (Regulation of the Minister of Public Works Number 14/PRT/M/2015).

The construction of the Notog Dam/weir originated from the dry and barren conditions of the lowlands on the north coast of Central Java, which is detrimental to sugar producers (sugar factories in Brebes and Tegal).

Kersana sugar factory, Jatibarang sugar factory, Banjaratma sugar factory, Kemanglen sugar factory, Doekoehwringin sugar factory, the sugar factory needed a supply of sugar cane and then a sugarcane plantation was created in Java in 1921 which needed irrigation. In 1971 to 1972 rehabilitation was carried out by the Pemali Comal Sub-Project of Prosida. Irrigation Network Heavy Maintenance Project on May 18, 1993.

The Notog Weir was first built in 1893 and still functioning as per designed utility tough underwent repairs in 1971-1972 and 2007. Until now the Notog Weir is in relatively good condition and is still functioning.

The Notog Weir is a Dutch heritage built in 1893 to irrigate an agricultural area of 29,945 hectares in Brebes Regency and parts of Tegal Regency. Main building DI. Pemali is a Fixed Weir with one intake. The Notog Weir has undergone repairs in 1971-1972, 2007, 2016-2018 (MYC), and 2019. Until now, the Notog Weir is in relatively good condition and still functioning.
