Located on the Iwakigawa Basin, traversing through two cities and three towns in Aomori Prefecture, Japan is included in the Register as an example of innovative use of materials and designs of a system of headworks to ensure efficient irrigation water supply in various reaches from upstream to downstream with different design and material for each headworks more than 350 years ago.
