Located on Han River in the Yangtze River Basin, in the city of Xiangyang in the northwest of the Hubei Province China, is included in the ICID Register of World Heritage Irrigation Structures as a milestone constructed over 2000 years ago in the development of irrigated agriculture in the region contributing to the regional, social and economic development and as an example of establishment of effective management technology (“melons-on-vines” water supply and time-share rotation irrigation).
