Agricultural Growth of Rural India (AGRI) is an ISO 9001:2015 certified national level development organization and is officially registered under the Section 21 of the Societies Act 1860 as well as with the NGO DARPAN of NITI Aayog, Government of India (UID: UP/2017/0150056). AGRI is officially empanelled by the Department of Agriculture, Odisha and National Horticulture Mission, Chhattisgarh for training programs, exposure visits and international study tours. AGRI is engaged in a variety of activities for all-round agricultural and rural development with an intense focus on agriculture-related information dissemination, training, capacity building, and technology exposure by organizing workshops, rural marketing events, domestic and overseas trade and technology exposure visit programs for farmers, extension officers, policy makers and agriculture sector professionals under various Government of India and state-level schemes such as ATMA, NHM, MIDH, NLM and PMKSY, among others. Since inception, almost 20,000 farmers, extension officers and state-level decision makers have benefitted from AGRI~s capacity development activities within India, Israel, Spain and the USA. AGRI has an active collaboration with various central and state government agencies, agricultural universities and research institutes, NABARD, NGO~s and rural development organizations in India as well as premier institutions abroad. The Asian Development Bank was conceived in the early 1960s as a financial institution that would be Asian in character and foster economic growth and cooperation in one of the poorest regions in the world. The Central Board of Irrigation and Power (CBIP), is a Premier Institution set up by the Government of India in the 1927. CBIP has been rendering dedicated services to the professional organizations, engineers and individuals in the country related to Power, Water Resources and Renewable Energy Sectors for more than eight decades. CBIP has grown into an eminent organization of international importance while serving the nation equally with great distinction. CBIP is Indian chapter for more than 10 international organizations related to Power & Water resources sectors (ISRM, IGS, INHA, CIGRE, IASH, IWRA, IAEGTD, NDC-WWC, TAI, INCOLD, SPE, etc.).

The Dubai Municipality (DM) was founded in 1954 commencing its activities with a cadre of seven employees undertaking simple tasks in cleaning the city.

DM passed a series of evolutionary stages through the years of its multiplied tasks. In 1980 a decree had been issued establishing the Municipal Council appointing 32 members headed by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Municipality. The Institute of Hydraulics and Rural Water Management (IHLW) focuses on Research of the water cycle where water interacts with soil. The term "rural water management" has evolved from rural engineering in Austria and is now a key discipline of agricultural engineering and water management. It comprises the terms land improvement and water management.

The state government initiated a number of administrative and legal reforms which constitute broadly what is known as the ‘Water Sector Reforms~. These include the formulation of the comprehensive State Water Policy 2003, implementation of a Water Sector Improvement Project to rehabilitate 286 irrigation projects (major, medium and minor) and the enactment, in March 2005, of two statutes namely the Maharashtra Management of Irrigation Systems by Famers (MMISF) Act and the Maharashtra Water Resources Regulatory Authority (MWRRA) Act.

Mission : "Our mission is to provide sustainable water security to the State of Maharashtra"
The three main functions of the authority are:

(i) To determine the criteria, regulate and enforce the distribution of entitlements for the various categories of use and the distribution of entitlements, within each category of use.
(ii) To establish a water tariff system for levying water charges on various categories of water users with a view to establishing a stable and self sustainable management of service delivery to such users.
(iii) To review and clear water resources projects, with a view to ensuring that a project proposal is in conformity with the Integrated State Water Plan (ISWP).
The Authority is also required to support and aid the enhancement and preservation of water quality and promote sound water conservation and management practices.
The Authority has been vested with a special responsibility under Section 11(f) and 21 of the MWRRA Act with regard to clearing projects in districts and regions with irrigation backlogs as per the Governor?s directives. The Authority is also required to ensure equitable distribution of water during periods of scarcity (Section 11(c), MWRRA Act).

A young professional from Germany with extensive field and operational experiences in water resources management and climate change in South Asia. Currently working as a consultant to guide CIMMYT~s water related work in South Asia while completing a PhD at Wageningen UR. My work developed out of the CSISA Project~s (www.csisa.org) workstream on coping with climate variability. The project supports governments in designing and implementing sustainable intensification pathways in the region through systemic change by identifying better bet agronomic practices, engaging the private sector, and building capacity in local institutions. This means that we have a strong field presence and network with local stakeholders and institutions.

To be more specific, I work on the interlinkages between sustainable intensification, climate change adaptation, and the safe operating space of irrigated agriculture in the Eastern Gangetic Plains. The ecological and social complexity of the smallholder and rice-wheat dominated agroecosystems constitute one of the major challenges while prevailing poverty and food insecurity pose large potential for impact. I am currently conducting a study on identifying entry-points for supporting farmer-led groundwater irrigation expansion in Nepal~s Terai. I addition, I am developing a spatial crop modelling framework that can leverage assets in crop simulations as well as RS products.  A CV with more detailed qualifications is available upon request.

Dr. Mitthan Lal Kansal, currently working as NEEPCO Chair Professor and Head in the Depart of Water Resources Development and Management at Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India. He is a civil engineering graduate with post-graduation in water resources engineering. Dr. P. L. Patel is Professor (HAG) of Hydraulics and Water Resources in Department of Civil Engineering, Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat, India. He has recently been appointed as Deputy Director of SVNIT, Surat, India. Prior to joining SVNIT in 2007, he worked as Reader, Civil Engineering Department in Delhi College of Engineering (now DTU) for eight years. Prior to working at DCE, he served as Assistant Executive Engineer in Border Roads Organization (BRO) from 1995-1999. He did his Bachelor in Civil Engineering from Government Engineering College, Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, India and, then, pursued his Master and Doctoral Degrees in Civil Engineering from the, then, University of Roorkee, now Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, India.
He has more than 150 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences of repute. He has guided more than 9 PhD and 39 M.Tech Theses. He has also served in various academic positions in SVNIT Surat such as Dean (Academics), Head of Civil Engineering Department, Dean (Research & Consultancy), Dean (PG), etc. He was also instrumental in setting up a Centre of Excellence (CoE) on 'Water Resources & Flood Management' as Project coordinator in the Institute through a research grant from World Bank sponsored TEQIP-II. The CoE has state-of-the-art computational and experimental facilities consisting of a Computational Hydraulics Laboratory, Advanced Hydraulics Laboratory and CoE Library with many relevant books on Water Resources Engineering. Dr. P.V. Timbadiya is Associate Professor in Water Resources Engineering Section, Department of Civil Engineering, Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat, India. He secured his Post-Graduation and Doctoral degree in Water Resources Engineering from SVNIT Surat in 2004 and 2012 respectively. He did his Under Graduation in Civil Engineering from Sardar Vallbhbhai Regional College of Engineering Technology (now SVNIT). Prior to joining SVNIT Surat in March 2009 as Assistant Professor, he has also worked with S.V.M. Institute of Technology Bharuch, Gujrat, India in the same capacity.

His research expertise is flood modeling, hydrologic modeling, climate change impact assessment, morphology of rivers, water distribution network analysis and design. He is currently guiding six Doctoral Scholars and has already guided 21 M.Tech dissertations. He is also actively involved in research and consultancy activities, the prominent being 'Design of water related infrastructure (water distribution, sewerage network and storm water network) for Dholera Smart City' and Geomorphologic study of Tapi River using GIS and Remore Sensing. He has more than 17 publications in a reputed international journal (SCI/SCOPUS).

He was appointed as National Consultant for Kalpsar Project by Narmada, Water Resources, Water Supply and Kalpsar Department of Govt. of Gujarat. Dr. Timbadiya is a Charted Engineer of Institution of Engineers, Kolkata, India. He is a recipient of the Best Case Study Award - 2015 award by the American Society of Civil Engineers and also the Young Engineers Award by the Institution of Engineers (India) in the Year 2015.
