(4460) Displacement pump
A type of pump in which water is induced to flow from the supply through an inlet pipe and valve and into the pump chamber by vacuum. Vacuum is created in the chamber by the withdrawal of air which, on its return, forces the water in the chamber to flow through the discharge valves and pipes.
